Transition. During the Parish Masses on April 23rd and April 24th, Father Paul Borowski, C.Ss.R., Provincial Superior of the Baltimore Province of the Redemptorists, announced the Baltimore Province of the Redemptorists will relinquish the pastoral leadership of St. James Parish to the Diocese of Harrisburg. The Redemptorisits have served St. James Parish for 105 years.
Bishop Gainer set the transfer time and date to be Sunday, June 19, 2022 at a special 11:30AM Mass.
After this transition Father O’Blaney will leave our parish to begin his next assignment of active ministry. A Diocesan priest will become the next pastor of St. James.
Planning for the Transition. While all details regarding these two transitions are not finalized, key dates and activities have already been established by the Transition Planning Committee, as itemized in the attached event summary. Note that two programs are being planned: one to honor the Redemptorists service to the parish and recognize the Diocesan transition (June 19th) and another series of events to honor and thank Father O’Blaney for his years of service to our parish.
Parishioners of all ages are invited to participate. We hope that all will be able to join us for at least one of the planned transition events.
